Worship Services
Schedule of Services Music Readings Easter Christmas
Worship at St. Paul's follows the Book of Common Prayer, other authorized liturgical materials, a broad musical tradition and the insights and participation of informed worshippers. All baptized Christians are invited to receive Communion.
Schedule of Services
Sunday
From mid-September through mid-June - Two services are held each Sunday morning in our beautiful sanctuary, both of which follow Holy Eucharist Rite II almost exclusively. Our quieter, more contemplative 8:00 a.m. service generally does not include music. Our 10:00 a.m. service, on the other hand, features our pipe organ and choir music. Sunday school and child care are held concurrent with this later service, except during the summer.
Following the 10:00 a.m. service, we gather as a parish for fellowship. On warmer days, we may meet outside. Otherwise, we meet in our lounge area.
From mid-June to mid-September - We shift to our summer worship schedule with one, consolidated worship service at 9:00 a.m. We share fellowship after the service, often on the front lawn of the church beneath the shade of a majestic old beech tree.
Weekdays
Mid-week services are held in the lounge on Thursdays at 10 a.m. (featuring prayers and anointing for healing).
Music
Our music program at St. Paul's continues to thrive through our fine choir. This choir, composed of parish volunteers, sings a wide variety of choral repertoire from the Renaissance to 21st century compositions. In addition to providing music leadership at the 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning services from September through mid June, the choir also sings at the Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Advent Lessons and Carols services, and Christmas Eve services. An informal pick-up choir meets during the summer months to continue un-interrupted music leadership for the entire liturgical year.
The choir is always interested in new members. Participation is open to anyone of high school age and older. Prior musical training is not required, just a sincere desire to regularly offer one's singing ability in a choral setting in service to God.
Regular rehearsals are Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00, and on Sunday mornings approximately 30-45 minutes prior to the 10:00 service.
