Church School at St. Paul's takes place during the 10 am worship service. Children meet in their classroom and join the service for communion. The classes are divided into three groups: preK - 2nd grades, 3rd - 5th grades, 6th - 8th grades. This division was determined after careful examination of the teachers available and the population to be served.
The lower classes take advantage of the Sunday Paper Junior which we already offer to children attending worship services. In the lower classes, the focus is on the liturgical year and appropriate bible stories, while the 6th - 8th grade class discusses a variety of current issues in an Episcopal/Christian context.
We have a 5-week rotation of teachers and encourage team teaching, especially in the lower classes.
Thank you to all the parents, grandparents and friends who support the Church School program. Special thanks to those of you who have taught - you do not know how important your influence may be in a child's life! And there is always room for more! We would love to have a few more teachers and/or teacher assistants. If you are interested, please contact ChurchSchoolCoordinator@stpaulsmp.org.
The Youth Group (grades 6-8) meets every other Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. One of the goals of the Youth Group is to have fun while increasing our knowledge and understanding of Christian principles. They seek to serve others as Christ would do.
The Youth Group is looking forward to more parties, field trips and service activities. More youth, families and adult leadership would be very welcome. If you are interested in joining the Youth Group or becoming a Youth Group mentor or chaperone, please leave a message with the church office at parishadmin@stpaulsmp.org.
Youth Mission Trip
This summer, our high school students joined other teens from All Saints', Millington and St. Gregory's, Parsippany for a mission trip to Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. The Rev. Victoria McGrath from Millington and Rev. Paul Olsson went with the group as adult chaperones for the week long trip from July 19 - 25.
In the fall, we'll be organizing a forum for the St. Paul's youth to share their experience with our congregation.
